Cheese Press for making cheese at home

It is used to press your hard cheese accurately and reliably. The Mad Millie brand cheese press is made of a special food grade plastic that cleans easily and does not absorb bacteria. It contains a mold for pressed cheese with a capacity of 2 liters of curd that can be about 6 liters of milk. The pressing function reaches 20 kg of force. The measurement of this force is measured with a pressure gauge similar to the pressure cooker rings. Watch the video below to see how the press works.

4 steps to pressing hard cheese

  1. Scoop your curds into the cheese mould component of the cheese press (line the mould with a sterilised cheese cloth if you wish to first).
  2. Place the disk on top pf the curds (fold the cheese cloth on top of cheese or on top of the disk if using a cheese cloth).
  3. Place the top of the press on top of the mould. Twist the lid to lock into the mould
  4. Begin screwing the knob to get the metal rod to put pressure on the pressing disk. The scale will pop up and indicate how much pressure is being applied. Refer to your recipe for the amount of pressure needed for the cheese. This varies for different cheeses.

Note: As the cheese is pressed the cheese will compress and the pressure will release. Check the presure gauge periodically and increase the pressure as needed.

Care instructions:
Wash and sterilise the cheese mould and pressing disk before use. Both pieces are dishwasher safe. Never submerge the top half of the press in water. Simply wipe down wiyh a damp cloth after each use.
